EASY Lion Craft Mask Using A Paper Plate
Picture my daughter running around the house yelling “RAWR!!” as she holds this lion craft mask in front of her face. That’s what happened for at least an hour this afternoon. I like to imagine what’s going on inside that little brain of hers when she plays. I wonder if she pictures herself as a ferocious lion running in the Serengeti. I hope so! The imagination of a child is so incredible and she’s always reminding me to slow down and enjoy the little moments.
If you’re new here at Mom Printables, I love to share a wide variety of crafts here on the blog to make with your kids. Some are more time-consuming (like this one), and some are super easy and great for a child of any age to make! This lion craft using a paper plate is one of those really easy projects that’s great for any age. If you have a toddler, preschooler or child in kindergarten, this activity is perfect to help them explore their painting and cutting skills.
SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR LION CRAFT MASK:
Hot glue gun
HOW TO MAKE THE LION CRAFT MASK STEP BY STEP:
The first step is to paint the center of the paper plate yellow.
Paint the outer rim of the paper plate brown. Let that dry completely before moving on to the next step.
Now, have your child cut small strips of the paper plate to make the fringe for the lions mane. Continue until you’ve cut around the entire plate.
Now, using black paint, paint on the face of the lion any way you want. You can also use a black sharpie marker for this step.
Lastly, glue on small strips of the hemp twine to create the whiskers.
That’s it! I told you it was really easy. This lion mask craft is simple and fun for toddlers, preschoolers and children in kindergarten. All you need is a paper plate, some paint and hemp twine. Hope you enjoyed learning how to make it!
