Heart Suncatcher Craft
Here’s a colorful heart suncatcher craft that kids of all ages can enjoy! It’s so much fun that they’ll probably want to make more than just one. You’ll love how pretty these look as they catch the sunlight while displayed in your window.
MATERIALS NEEDED FOR HEART SUNCATCHER CRAFT:
Here are the materials you need to make the heart suncatcher craft. You only need a few simple things. I’ve linked to them below using my amazon affiliate links.
DIRECTIONS FOR HOW TO MAKE THE HEART SUNCATCHER CRAFT:
First, download the Rainbow Heart Suncatcher template from my free resources library. Then print it out and cut out the heart shape. (If you don’t have the password to the resources library, you can get it here and I will sent it to you through email.)
Then, cut the tissue paper into thin strips and then into smaller square or rectangle shapes.
Now start laying the pieces of tissue on in any way you like. The goal is to cover all the areas where mod podge is, but it’s also okay if your child doesn’t.
Once you’ve covered the surface with tissue paper, paint another coat of mod podge over top. Let this dry thoroughly - it will turn clear once it’s dry.
Now you can take the heart template and trace out the shape over the tissue pattern. Next, cut it out. Discard the leftover pieces and the backside of the sheet protector. Or you can use it to make another one, like I did!
And there you have it! A really easy heart suncatcher that kids of all ages can make.
These heart suncatchers look beautiful displayed in the window. I love how you can see the texture of the tissue paper. I just used clear tape to stick them to my window. Nothing fancy.
Hope you enjoyed this easy craft project for kids. Let me know if your family decides to give it a try. Happy making friends!
